My thryptomenes went a bit leggy about six months ago and then suddenly bulked up. I think they send out little thin feelers everywhere and look *awful*, and then grow up their leafy/stalk things and suddenly fill out. So maybe straggly followed by awesomeness - a never ending pattern! Heh.
